please correct the statement in the FAQ that other operating systems doesn’t have the underlying technology to do the same as syphon as with microsoft’s DirectX 9 EX, 10, 11 shared resources you can do the exact same stuffs as with syphon (sharing textures, vertex- and depthbuffers on video memory using only GPU accross multiple devices) and it’s there since 2006 from windows vista.
vvvv’s last custom alpha builds (vvvv45alpha27.2-dx9ex) support this feature and based on that my vjing patches (md.vis) uses shared textures very actively http://www.mcro.de/?section=md-vis (see the 1.1.beta version) (here is the msdn article about it: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb219800(v=vs.85).aspx )
so please mention in the FAQ that from vista, windows has a similar technology built inside directx
