audio recording could not be started

I’ve been using Syphon with EBO on Ableton Live 10 successfully (without audio) it has been rendering my output through the EBO plugin eSyphon. Recently, however, when i hit record a pop up says”An audio recording could not be started. The selected audio device is not available.Try choosing another device.” I’ve tried everything I can think of. I don’t want an audio recording anyway (I do that later) all I want is the EBO output. any ideas. running Mac10.13.2 inteli7 32 ram – high sierra

I can’t tell from your description – are you using Syphon Recorder to do the recording? If so then there must be an audio device selected in the Preferences. Syphon Recorder > Preferences… then in the Audio section, set Input to None.
