Analog Video Capture with Syphon

Hey guys!

I am trying to get an VHS camcorder to act like a webcam in Quartz Composer. Has anyone had luck using any analog video capture software to syphon the feed into a video environment?

Would love to know how you did it 🙂

Yup, totally doable.

Ive used:

* Video Glide compatible drivers: https://www.echofx.com/videoglide.html

* High quality pro capture gear from Aja and BlackMagic

And other solutions. All work, all can be seen by compatible syphon software like VDMX, Jitter, QC, Max, Resolume etc.

Totally doable 🙂

I use a lot of analog hardware but obviously the digital universe has it perks 😉 A nice hybrid rig is what I’m after.

I have an Elgato Video Capture. Any experience using that? I kind of assumed that it didn’t have the ability to syphon, but I could be wrong. It does come with software…
