sorry if this question is simple or stupid, but i’m new to using quartz etc. and i’ve got no idea on how to use the glitch file reader.

This is how i’ve got it setup at the moment trying to read a .txt file from my desktop.

    Hi

Typically you are going to want to use larger files with more data that is ‘interesting’ I know that might sound weird, but try:

various mp3s, AIFFs or WAV files, larger PDFs, big 3D models, or larger word or Excel files, etc.

Unless the text file is rather large, chances are it won’t be able to provide many pixels worth of data from the text.

    Hi thanks for the reply,
I’ve tried what you suggested, using WAV, PSD, large RAW files and still nothing comes up in the viewer.

Am i typing the file path correctly? i’ve been doing it like this:

    ” /Desktop/raincoat.psd ”

    again thanks for your time

It looks like it requires a complete path, eg

    /Users/josh/Desktop/raincoat.psd

I also had to shift the File Read Offset to get it to notice changes in the file path.

awesome thanks so much i got it to work.
i was wondering though, is it possible to have it playing as a video just looping the file read offset?

An Interpolation patch would be one way to do that.
